The Rogue Valley

Rogue valley is the gateway to some beautiful scenery and hiking opportunities, extending from Grants Pass in the north to Ashland in the south. The valley is bordered to the east by the Cascade Mountains, to the south and west by the Siskiyou Mountains and to the north by the Mount Sexton Pass.

The area includes the Table Rocks and the Rogue River in the northern part and to the south-Emigrant Lake, Pilot Rock & Mount Ashland. To the east Mount McLaughlin, enchanting Crater Lake with numerous waterfalls, lakes and trails. The Oregon Caves, the Redwoods and the Pacific Ocean are a short distance to the west.

There are towns and cities scattered throughout the Valley. Medord is centrally located and is the largest city in the region. Medford is best known for its pear orchards, wineries and home to Harry & David gourmet food & candy. Ashland is a college town that is world reknown for its Shakespeare & other theatre productions. Grants Pass is known for its antique malls and access to the Rogue river for cruising and fishing. Rogue River and Shady Cove are also excellent access points to the Rogue River. Jacksonville is home to many museums, antique dealers and the annual Britt Festival. A major portion of the town is on the Historical buildings list.
