Payment Methods Accepted
We accept MasterCard, Visa & Discover Credit/Debit Cards, Checks, and Money Orders. Orders paid by check will ship once the check has cleared (typically 7-10 days). We will hold mail order items in reserve for 10 days. If your check or money order has not been received by then, the item will be returned to our inventory.
Due to the slow down in the economy and order placements we have taken our shopping cart offline. Orders via CREDIT CARDS may be placed by calling the store directly at 1-800-659-7576 or locally at 541-779-7576. On off hours you can leave a message on our secure answering machine.

Your satisfaction is important to us and we are eager to resolve any problems that may arise with your order. Items may be returned up to 10 days from the date you receive them. We ask that you contact us via phone or email prior to making a return so we can expedite the refund process. We will refund the purchase price of the item that is returned in the condition in which it was sold. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer except in cases of our shipping the wrong item or the item is not as we described. To alleviate return of items that aren't what you wanted, please email us with any questions you have about the item before purchase. We're happy to provide additional information on items so that you receive what you really want.
Note: International orders may NOT be returned due to high postage costs. So please contact us with any questions on items before purchasing.
We make every effort to ship your order within two business days. On rare occasions it may take longer to process your order and we will contact you directly if that is the case. All items are subject to prior sale and we will notify you promptly if the item you have ordered is no longer available.
All items are carefully packed in padded mailers, boxes, bubble wrap, etc. Though we pack carefully to guard against damage, we offer and encourage you to purchase insurance for domestic shipments. USPS domestic orders are shipped with a delivery confirmation.
We are NOT responsible for items lost in transit. If you have any worries please purchase the USPS Insurance!
The shipping rates listed below will fit most situations. We have listed some general guidelines for international shipments but as guidelines vary depending on country shipped to, we urge you to email us for more exact shipping costs for International shipments. We reserve the right to refuse to ship to certain countries without the purchase of international insurance.

Please note: Book Rate can be used only for Books, comic books, cds, records (LP’s/vinyl). These items will be mailed media rate unless requested otherwise. When purchasing multiple items let us quote you a shipping cost to see if we can save you money on the shipping charges.
Shipping costs are based on items weighing 2 pounds. We may contact you if the item ordered requires additional postage. Do not hesitate to contact us regarding postage costs prior to ordering an item. Please include a complete mailing address so that we can provide an accurate shipping quote. Also, if you need an item sent “Next Day” delivery, please contact us by phone. We will be glad to quote a price. When applicable, we will refund over payment of shipping costs.
International shipments are weight and size sensitive. Some items can fit in an Air Mail International Priority Envelope for a flat fee of $13.00 to Canada and Mexico, $17.00 to most other countries. Larger, heavier items will typically ship for fees ranging from $28.00 - $40.00. Most International shipments have a delivery time of 6-20 days. Please contact us via email with your complete mailing address for an accurate shipping cost. Packages valued over $75.00 will require insurance and will be mailed priority air mail.
Shipping costs listed on the Check-out page are higher than stated above. This allows for extra charges for over weight items. When applicable, we will refund over payment for shipping costs.

BOOK TRADING AND BUYING POLICIES
Trade-Credit Policy For In-Store Use Only
Village Books takes in books from customers every day for trade-credit. Trade-credit is a credit that you can use to purchase items in our store. Trade-credit may be used the day of the transaction or held on file to use at a later date
Trade credit can be used on any type of book or audio book in-store unless marked as a "No Trade" item.
Trade credit cannot be used on music related items (CDs,Vinyl) or Collectibles items (Hallmark, Action Figures etc.)
Trade credit will be voided if not used within a 2 year period
Trade credit is limited to $20.00 on any one item (if a book is $30.00 than you will have to pay cash on the $10.00 difference)
Trade credit cannot be exchanged for cash
Trade credit cannot be used to purchase items from the website.
We have no "TAKE BACK" guarantee for items purchased from us. However, mass market paperbacks purchased from us and returned in saleable condition are usually accepted back for trade credit. We will not take back books that are dirty/greasy, have split spines, torn covers, water damaged etc.
NOTE: We do NOT guarantee to take back items purchased from us!
Village Books is always happy to look at books offered to us for cash. Due to the huge quantity of books we receive through trade we are VERY selective about the books we will purchase for cash. The cash offer must be accepted the day of the transaction and cannot be held on file.
The amount you receive in cash is approximately 10-25% of what our estimated shelf price will be for the book.
If you have an estate or large collection of books, hard to find antiquarian, literary fiction or regional history, we can make an offer. Please call if you live in the area and would like us to come see your items.
