A number of small white dots on front cover; small "ring" impression on back cover. Cover in Fair to Good condition. Short gift inscription in ink on top of ffep. Paste-on illustration on ffep. Separation between front endpapers (about 4" from the bottom edge, upwards). Pages are dyed red. Pages tight; clean/unmarked. 190 pages. Numerous color illustrations by Arthur Rackham. Introduction by A. A. Milne. From The Heritage Illustrated Bookshelf. This editon copyright 1940, by the Limited Editions Club, Inc. Book itself is Very Good Plus or better condition.

All with slight fading to boards; minor bumping and shelf wear to boards. All with price clipped DJ's and DJ's in mylar. Vol. 1 has PO's name in tiny blue letters on back of ffep. On page "v", PO has neatly printed when book was acquired and price (she was a librarian). 3 small white areas on back board. Pages tight; clean/unmarked. 428 pages + 8 advertising pages. DJ with small chips at edges and corners; general rubbing/creasing/shelf wear. Vol. 2 has general shelf wear to boards. Pages tight; clean/unmarked. 364 pages. DJ with small chips at coners and edges; wrinkling/bumping to top front corner along with a small closed tear. General rubbing/shelf wear to DJ. Vol. 3 has minor general shelf wear to boards. Pages tight; clean/unmarked. Vol. 3 has some creasing to some of the pages and bumping to bottom corners (I would suspect these were caused by poor storage). 469 pages + 4 additional advertising pages. The print in these books is very readable, not tiny like often found with "War and Peace."
